Concrete Repair & Resurfacing Central Indiana
Concrete Repair & Resurfacing in Central Indiana
Pitted, flaking, stained concrete brought back to a clean, sealed surface, for a fraction of what tear-out and replacement costs.
Resurfacing bonds a new wear surface directly to your existing slab after the damage is repaired. The old concrete stays in the ground. The surface you walk on is new.
The Problem
Indiana is hard on concrete.
Every winter, water soaks into the surface, freezes, expands, and pops the top layer loose. Add a few seasons of road salt, and a patio or front walk goes from smooth to pitted, flaking, and stained. It gets worse with every freeze-thaw cycle.
The usual answer is to tear it out and pour new. That's loud, slow, expensive, and a lot of the time it isn't necessary. If the slab underneath is sound, meaning not heaving, not sinking, and not broken through, then the damage is on the surface. The surface is what we fix.
Our Solution
We resurface with Leggari®'s concrete repair system.
It's a polymer-modified overlay: a cement blend mixed with liquid polymer, troweled on in three thin coats and then sealed.
The polymer is the part that matters. Plain patching cement sits on top of old concrete and eventually lets go. Liquid polymer bonds the new layer into a properly prepped surface and gives it enough flex to ride through Indiana's temperature swings instead of cracking off.
What you end up with is a new wearing surface bonded to your existing slab, sealed against water and salt, and one even color from edge to edge.
Some concrete doesn't need a new surface at all. It's sound and just needs to look finished and stay protected. For that we grind and seal it: the existing slab ground clean and sealed, with nothing added on top.
And one thing we'll always tell you straight: resurfacing fixes surfaces. It doesn't fix a slab that's moving. If yours is heaving, sinking, or cracked clean through, that's a replacement job, and we'll say so on the estimate rather than sell you an overlay that cracks along the same line next spring.
What's Included
What's Included
- On-site slab evaluation, including whether it's a resurfacing candidate or a replacement, and why
- Cleaning and degreasing
- Surface prep by grinding so the overlay bonds into the concrete instead of sitting on it
- Crack, pit, and spall repair with resin patching compound
- Joint treatment: control joints kept open or recut, so the slab can still move where it was designed to
- Three coats of polymer-modified overlay
- Water-based protective sealer
- Full cleanup and haul-away
- Final walk-through before we leave
Options
Options
Natural gray: the clean, fresh-poured look of the overlay itself.
Tinted: the overlay colored all the way through with UV-stable pigment, so wear doesn't reveal a different color underneath.
Stained: a penetrating stain over the overlay for a variegated, natural-stone look. No two areas take it exactly alike.
Grind & Seal: no new surface. Your existing slab ground clean and sealed, for concrete that's sound and just needs protecting.
Pool decks and anywhere you need grip underfoot are covered on our Texture Deck page. Garage and basement floors are on our Flake Floors page, and crack and spall repair is already part of the prep on every coating we install, so you won't need a separate resurfacing job underneath.

Process
Process
Evaluate
We look at the slab, not just the surface. Heaving, settling, and through-cracks mean replacement, and we'll tell you that up front.
Prep
Clean it, grind it, open up and fill the cracks and spalls, and mark every joint.
Resurface
Three coats of polymer overlay, each one worked into the coat before it. For Grind & Seal, this is where the slab gets ground clean.
Seal
A water-based sealer locks out water and salt. We'll give you the cure schedule for your weather before we leave.
Straight Answers
FAQ
Is resurfacing cheaper than replacing the concrete?
Almost always, by a wide margin. There's no demolition, no hauling off old concrete, and no forming or pouring. If you're comparing our estimate against a replacement bid, we'll walk you through the difference line by line.
Will my cracks come back?
Surface damage we repair stays repaired. A crack caused by the slab itself moving, from settling, heaving, or a tree root, can come back through any overlay, ours included, because the movement is still there. We'll tell you which kind you have before any work starts.
Do you cover up the control joints?
No. Joints are where concrete is designed to crack. We keep them open or recut them through the new surface. Cover a joint and the slab will crack right through the overlay along that line.
Do I need this before a garage or basement coating?
No. Crack, pit, and spall repair is part of the prep on every flake and metallic floor we install. This service is for concrete you want restored on its own: patios, porches, walks, and steps.
What's the difference between resurfacing and Grind & Seal?
Resurfacing adds a new surface. It's for concrete that's pitted, flaking, or badly stained. Grind & Seal adds nothing. It cleans up and protects concrete that's in good shape but looks tired. We'll recommend one or the other on the estimate based on what we see.
Is the work covered?
Yes. Resurfacing is covered by our workmanship warranty, and the terms are written on your estimate.
