Real hardwood and concrete don't get along. Basements are the obvious case — anyone who's put wood on a below-grade slab has either fought moisture the whole time or watched the planks cup a year later. But it's the same story in a sunroom, a garage conversion, or anywhere a slab meets a room that's supposed to feel warm.
Luxury vinyl plank is the usual compromise. It handles moisture, but it's a floating floor made of seams — seams that collect grit, catch on a chair leg, and eventually show every joint. And underneath the printed wood grain is vinyl, which is exactly what it looks like from close up.

Hardwood Overlay is a Leggari® system that builds the wood look directly onto the concrete. It isn't planks and it isn't a print. The grain, the plank lines, and the color are built up in layers on your slab, then sealed.
Because it's bonded to the concrete rather than floating on it, there's nothing to cup, swell, gap, or lift. There are no seams to catch grit. And it's waterproof by construction, not by rating — which is why it works in basements where real wood can't go.
Plank width, direction, and stain color are all specified before we start. It gets built to the room rather than bought off a rack.

Straight Answers
Questions About Hardwood Overlay.
Is this a plank product?
No. There are no planks and nothing floating. The wood look is built onto your slab in layers, so there are no seams and nothing to lift.
Will it look like real wood?
From standing height it reads as wide-plank hardwood. Up close it reads as a hand-finished surface, because that's what it is — every plank line and grain pass is worked by hand, so no two floors are identical.
Can it go in a basement?
That's one of the best places for it. It's waterproof by construction, so the moisture problems that rule out real hardwood below grade don't apply.
How does it compare to hardwood or LVP on price?
It sits in the same neighborhood as real hardwood and above LVP. What you're buying is a floor that doesn't have LVP's seams and doesn't have hardwood's moisture problem. We quote it on site once we've seen the slab.
Can it be refinished later?
The top coat can be renewed without disturbing the graining underneath — a maintenance coat rather than a sand-and-refinish.
Will it scratch?
It's a coated floor, so it can scuff like any coated floor. The difference from LVP is that the color goes all the way through the graining layer, so a scuff doesn't reveal a different color underneath.
