Texture Deck

Patio, Pool Deck & Driveway Resurfacing in Central Indiana

Resurface the concrete you have instead of replacing it. Cool underfoot, slip resistant, and built for Indiana freeze-thaw.

The Problem

Outdoor concrete takes a beating indoor concrete never sees.

Outdoor concrete in Indiana takes a beating that indoor concrete never sees. Water gets into the surface, freezes, expands, and lifts a little more of it every winter. Ten years of that and a patio that was smooth is now chalky, pitted, and stained, with hairline cracks spidering out from the joints.

The quote to tear it out and repour is significant, and it comes with a week of a torn-up yard, heavy equipment across the lawn, and fresh concrete that has to cure before anyone walks on it. Most people look at that and decide to live with the patio.

Our Solution

Texture Deck is a resurfacing system.

Texture Deck is a resurfacing system. If the slab underneath is structurally sound — and most are, even when they look rough — we don't remove it. We repair it, bond to it, and build a new wearing surface on top.

The finished surface is textured rather than smooth, which does two useful things outdoors. It's slip resistant when wet, and it stays noticeably cooler underfoot than dark smooth concrete in July. That's why it's the standard around pools.

It costs a fraction of replacement, there's no equipment across your yard, and a typical patio is done in two to three days.

Straight Answers

Questions About Resurfacing.

Will it crack again where the old cracks were?

Existing cracks get repaired and control joints get honored rather than covered over. A joint that's doing its job keeps doing its job through the overlay. What we can't fix is a slab that's actively moving, and we'll say so at the estimate rather than after.

When can you do exterior work?

Roughly April through October in Central Indiana. We won't coat below 50°F or with rain inside 24 hours — those conditions produce a finish that fails, and no schedule is worth that.

Is it hot on bare feet?

Substantially cooler than dark smooth concrete. Texture and lighter colors both help, which is why pool decks get both.

How long does it last?

Sealed and maintained, a long time — it's a wearing surface built for exterior exposure. The sealer is the maintenance item, refreshed every few years depending on traffic and sun.

Can you do my driveway?

Yes, if the slab is sound. Driveways see vehicle weight and turning loads, so we evaluate them harder than a patio and are honest when a section needs replacing instead.

What about the asphalt part of my drive?

We repair asphalt as part of a larger project — crack repair, pothole rebuild, and surface restoration quoted as a line item when we're already on site for the concrete.
